Professional and Academic Background
Dr. Nixon’s professional path reflects a deep commitment to education, leadership, and service. In 2017, she founded and operated OneCore Workforce Solutions, LLC, a recruitment agency focused on talent acquisition and human capital support. While leading OneCore, she also transitioned into online college instruction in 2019, teaching across multiple levels of higher education. The agency was later closed as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, marking a pivotal season of redirection that further solidified her calling to higher education and doctoral student development.
Since 2021, Dr. Nixon has specialized in working with doctoral learners, teaching doctoral research courses, serving on numerous dissertation committees, and chairing dissertations across programs. She has also served as a qualitative research methodologist, providing expert guidance on research design, methodology, and scholarly alignment. Her experience spans both K–12 public education—where she served as a guidance counselor, assistant principal, recruitment coordinator, personnel director, and assistant superintendent for human resources—and higher education, giving her a rare, holistic perspective on education systems and student development.
Dr. Nixon holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Higher Education Leadership, a Master of Education in Educational Administration, a Master of Education in School Guidance and Counseling, and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. Her academic and professional background uniquely positions her to support doctoral students who are balancing scholarship with careers, leadership roles, and family responsibilities.
FaithPoint’s Purpose
FaithPoint Educational Services was born not only from Dr. Nixon’s professional expertise, but also from her personal dissertation journey. While earning her doctorate, she worked full time and experienced moments of self-doubt, fatigue, and uncertainty—challenges familiar to many doctoral students. That lived experience fuels her passion for providing ethical guidance, strategic support, and consistent encouragement to students who may question whether they can finish. She believes deeply that with the right support, clarity, and accountability, students can complete what they started.
The name FaithPoint reflects a dual meaning. It represents Dr. Nixon’s faith in God, whom she credits with guiding her professional and academic decisions, and it also symbolizes the point at which students strengthen their own faith—in themselves, in the process, and in their ability to see their goals through to completion.
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward.”
Colossians 3:23–24 (NIV)
Dr. Nixon, hosts a podcast, Dissertation Deconstructed, which provides doctoral students with practical tools, research guidance, and insider insight to navigate the dissertation process with confidence. Through FaithPoint Educational Services, Dr. Nixon is committed to walking alongside doctoral students with integrity, compassion, and excellence—helping them move from uncertainty to confidence, and from ABD to earned doctorate.
